How it Works

Membership Overview

  • Olympic Housing Trust is a membership-based organization

  • Members may be either individuals or businesses

  • All general members are allowed to vote on who joins the Board of Trustees, which ensures that the organization has community input and oversight.

  • Members are invited to an annual meeting to learn about how the organization is growing.

  • One membership counts for one vote within the Trust at the annual meeting. Voting rights do not extend to businesses.

  • This structure builds accountability and sustainability for our work.

Membership Fee

  • Individual member dues are $50 once a year

  • Businesses contribute between $100 - $200 annually

  • The term of the membership runs from the date of donation.

  • Membership can also be gained through volunteering for Olympic Housing Trust, and ultimately no one will be denied membership on the basis of not being able to pay.

Members must fill out a Membership Form annually in order to renew their commitment to the Olympic Housing Trust’s mission and to ensure that member contact information is up to date.

Local Testimonials:

“As a local farm family and rural employer, we’re seeing the negative impact of rising land and housing costs and the daunting barrier these pose for our farm crew, young families, and others who are hoping to a make a livelihood here. We’re more than eager to see innovative community-based solutions like the Olympic Housing Trust to what is truly a housing crisis!”

— Crystie Kisler | Finnriver and Chimacum Center co-founder, and Olympic Housing Trust Advisor

“I am pleased to be advising Olympic Housing Trust as they work toward developing new housing for moderate-income residents and families in Jefferson County.  I’m a fan of the Community Land Trust model because I have seen how well it works to provide needed housing in nearby communities such as Orcas Island in the San Juans.”
